January Pet Horoscopes: What the Stars Have in Store for Dogs and Cats

News

Happy New Year, cats and kittens, pups and dogs!

While it’s a welcome relief to officially be in the new year, January brings major shifts, which may be chaotic if you’re not prepared. But with a little common sense (and your horoscope, of course), you’ll be well on your way to living your best life.

Here’s a run down of the cosmic energy coming your way this month:

• Mars enters Taurus on January 6th, making us a little more passive and even patient.

• Mercury enters Aquarius on January 8th, allowing us to see and understand matters from a clearer perspective.

• Venus enters Capricorn on January 8th, compelling us to work at our relationships and inspiring us to make sound investments.

• The Capricorn new moon on January 13th will bring up issues from 2020, but we’ll have a different approach to how we handle them.

• Rebellious Uranus ends its retrograde journey, which started August 15th, on January 14th. Prepare yourself for a great awakening of sorts.

• Jupiter and Uranus square off on January 17th, pushing us to evolve and embrace a new philosophical mindset.

• The sun shifts into Aquarius on the 19th, cultivating togetherness.

• Elusive Neptune squares off with the nodes of destiny, making us unsure of which road to take in life on January 26th.

• The full moon in Leo on January 28th allows us to embrace our desires.

• Mercury retrograde commences on January 30th and lasts until February 20th-21st. Be careful in all of your communications during this time!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Living life in the fast lane often means that you leave friends behind. Although you miss them dearly, you don’t have the time to sit around and reflect because you’re always on the go. When Mercury starts its moonwalk on January 30th, you’ll be able to connect with old friends by chance (you may bump into them while on your walk with your pet parent), giving you the opportunity to connect and rebuild the bond.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

2021 is off to a stellar start for you, making you the envy of every four-legged creature you know. Although you are popular and cool to be around, you’re lacking the confidence within yourself to show the world your truest self. That will change on the 17th, when you’ll feel empowered and confident to reveal your interests, feelings, and desires to your whole squad. Don’t worry; they’ll accept you for who you are and admire your new-found expressiveness.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

January 17th brings a lot of repressed emotions and memories out of the woodwork. This may force you to reminisce about old friends and littermates—you may even shed a tear or two. When you’re feeling really low, your pet parents and family will prove how much they care by coming to your aid and never leaving your side. If that’s not true love, then what is? Give them extra boops and snuggles to show them you appreciate it.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

You are discovering who and what you love and want to commit to on January 13th. This may result in you wanting to end a few relationships or hit the reset button. On January 19th, you’ll have to set a few boundaries with others to ensure that they don’t overstep and push limits (the same reasoning applies to you). Don’t be afraid to put your paws down and create ground rules within relationships this month.

Leo  (July 23 – August 22)

You are due to fall in love again and soon, Leo. If you’re single, then you can expect to feel as though Cupid’s arrow has targeted you quite suddenly. That’s right, you’ll fall deeply and madly in love with a beautiful stranger at the dog park. If you are boo’d up already, then you can expect to have major changes (which can be welcome) come into play in your love life on the 17th.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

Relationships are more confusing than ever this month, especially on January 26th when Neptune causes chaos and commotion in all of your intimate partnerships. But take a beat before you react to salacious information; if you’re questioning what your pack is doing behind your back, hash it out with them first by having an open conversation to avoid any more ambiguous feelings from brewing.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

You’ll want to take some time away from the spotlight during the new moon on January 13th, which is unusual for you, because you don’t like solitude. You aren’t too fond of strolling around your ‘hood solo without your fellow pals and definitely don’t like playing kitty games without your pet parents. The good news is that you’ll be in the mood to hang with others during the full moon on January 28th and ready to party.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

The new moon on January 13th is going to make you extra chatty. But remember subtlety from time to time as you start vocalizing what’s on your mind. This will be helpful as you prepare yourself for the 17th and the 30th, when you will be extra reflective and wanting to reassess personal matters. Perhaps you’ll be in the mood to change the way you interact with your frenemies and let go of past wounds.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

You’re getting your vigor and energy back this month, Sag! This means you’ll have plenty of time to play at home and at the dog park—even wrestle with a few of your pals for fun. Don’t overexert yourself! Find a balance that works best to suit your feisty temperament. January 26th will make you want to rest your bones, laze about inside, and have a chill day daydreaming while watching the snow fall outside.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

You don’t readily wear your heart on your sleeve, but now you are. The 8th starts a whole new month long journey around communicating your deepest emotions with care. January 13th gives you the opportunity to let your innermost feelings be known to those you care about—don’t hold back, Cap: be expressive and show the love!

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Things are changing very fast. TBH, they’re happening too quickly for you to wrap your head around and grasp the transformations that are taking place. A change of residence, redecorating, even a new pet parent or sibling may be happening this month in your home life. January 17th will prove extra challenging, but things will slow down on the 30th when Mercury starts its retrograde journey. Embrace the changes that are happening. Ebb and flow.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Life may be extra confusing this month (especially on the 26th when elusive Neptune and the nodes of destiny square off), but there’s one person you can count on to get you through it: your pet parent. They’ll offer you unconditional love and support when you need it most and won’t allow you to get lost in your feels for too long. A whole lotta TLC is just what you need this month, Pisces.
